Romans 12:3, New International Version
“For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.”
As 2024 is nearing an end, I like to review the year and ask myself how I have grown this past year. The reality is that the most difficult times have grown me the most. As I think about two verses that have been very important to me this year. “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.” (Romans 12:3, NIV)
God has had me working on humility this year. I had no idea when 2024 began what He would allow to happen to help me see this humility from a completely new perspective. He also gave me a new perspective on Romans 8:28, (NIV), “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
2024 has been a very challenging year for me, but when others tell me how they have grown watching Mike and I go through what we have endured, then I know that it not only grew us, but encouraged others. When we surrender to the fact that God is in control, we know that His plans are for good and we need to trust that.
I encourage you to review your year. I know many who have lost loved ones. Others who are battling serious health issues or a loved one is. Others have struggled financially. Yet God is with us. As I sit here watching a beautiful sunrise as I type this, I am reminded of how much He loves us. I hope that you know this as well.
