2025 Kenya Mission Trip
On Tuesday August 5th, 2025 a team of four people began a ten day mission trip to Kenya. The team worked in the county of Kisii and were blessed to be able to speak and teach at a variety of churches and events. This included visiting eight different churches, holding three different baptisms, teaching at a two day leadership conference, and speaking at a two day revival event. The saw the Lord move in amazing ways as seventy six people professed Christ as their Lord and Savior and were baptized. The team experienced God overcome multiple obstacles and they can say without doubt that Jesus is alive and moving all across the world!
Below are the personal testimonies of team members who went on this trip.
Christopher Brock Testimony
When the Lord showed us that we would be going back to Kenya I had some mixed feelings. On one hand, I knew that the trip would be very long, and it would be very draining. On the other hand, I was also very excited to be able to meet our host Bishop Thomas and his wife again. As the summer came though, I found myself becoming more and more excited about the trip and by the time we left, I can say I was about as excited as I had even been for a mission trip to start.
Once we arrived there was a great joy that was in the midst of the team. We all got along very well, and we always kept the work of ministry as the main thing. We got to meet many people and do many things but for me, I can say that the thing that I enjoyed the most was being able to teach the word of God to the brothers and sisters in Kenya. They were hungry to hear God’s word, and it seemed that no matter how long the team taught and spoke they continued to listen.
One of my favorite memories was being blessed to teach two days at the leadership teaching conference that had been scheduled. I was blessed to able to teach the leaders, pastors and elders about the importance of teaching the whole word of the Lord and not showing partiality in teaching the word. I was blessed to be able to warn the leaders about pride and easily it can take root in our hearts. And I was blessed to be able to teach about the role of the pastor and how we must love those people who the Lord has placed around us with the same love that Jesus has shown to us.
I also found that the Lord exposed me to a new experience, open demonic activity. On two separate days as we prayed over people and anointed them, we encountered open demonic activity. I was amazed to see how the Holy Spirit began to lead and guide the mission team and the leaders there to address the situation. I can say once again that there is victory in the name of Jesus and He never fails!
The final thing that I cannot leave out is that the Lord lead 76 people to accept Christ and be baptized while we were there. The team was totally blown away as we were blessed to be able to baptize person after person and pray over them. God is on the move across the world and He isn’t done yet!
Coria Brock Testimony
After seven years, God once again called us back to Kenya for another short mission trip. This time we stayed in one location instead of going to two places hosted by two pastors. However, we still visited multiple churches that were all planting by our host pastor.
During the past seven years, the seed that was sowed has grown and we are grateful to be a part of it. Whether the 1st time or this time the Lord called us through visions and dreams. God revealed that it was His will for us to go back to Kenya right after we came back from the Philippines mission trip in the summer of 2024. Near the end of 2024, Bishop Thomas, who is our host pastor in Kenya, messaged us about a dream that he had. In the dream, he was hosting a leadership and revival conference and Chris and I were standing there with him. And there were two other people with us as well. Just like the dream he had, which is no doubt that it is from the Lord, a team of four formed! (How did the two others feel led to go with us? Read their testimony and I am sure you may find out.)
I never thought I would be called back to Kenya as I experienced strong spiritual warfare the 1st time we were there, and I did not desire for that kind of combat again. However, the Lord is not like man. It was time for us to once again engage and to mature and to be refined to another level. There were literally times when we faced physical danger, also times when we were in direct spiritual battles. (I believe others team member mentioned this part in their testimonies) But God, Jesus, already knew! He gave visions, thoughts, a sense of peace and courage, and a book to remind us of His protection. The enemy waged a battle, but God prepared us for His victory.
I am so grateful that a vision I had of my hands being bound, and a thought and warning of being captive, did not stop us from going. During the flight there, I watched a movie with a line which said, “Some people will back down and be stopped when fear come, some will become stronger.” Thank you, Jesus, who gave us a sense of what may happen, yet He also reminded us that He will be there to protect us. Psalm 91:5-6 (NIV), “You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.”
What an awesome God we serve!
Deborah Robinson Testimony
The Lord called me to Africa many years ago and this trip was His perfect timing. My experience in Kenya was everything I had hoped it would be. I enjoyed seeing the difference in landscape, culture, infrastructure, and food. We were served delicious home cooked meals every day. I ate a chicken foot for the first time, and it wasn't bad. My favorite food was ugali and fish cooked whole over a fire. One day I saw a Marabou stork fly by our building, which is a 5-foot-tall bird with a wingspan of up to 10 feet! The roads in town weren't bad at all, but as we travelled further out, it became quite the adventure. During their rainy season, these roads will become impassable. Many people travel via motorbike as they don't own a vehicle. I observed that these bikes would carry up to 4 people at a time and one even had a casket strapped on the back. The culture is one of brightly colored buildings and fabrics and lively music. Worship time at the churches was an enjoyable and uplifting experience. We all danced and praised the Lord in a freedom I don't see here in America. One of the congregations were especially jovial and we formed a line and danced right out the back door of the church and around the building. Another observation I made can be summed up in one word, COWS. There were cows absolutely everywhere, blocking the road, grazing, and walking within inches of our van. On our day of rest, we experienced seeing zebras grazing on the side of a road, wild giraffes, elephants, and baboons.
I have been on mission trips before but travelling across the Atlantic to a completely different culture was new for me. A mission trip like this one is something that changes a person forever, I will never be the same! The people of Kenya gave us a warm welcome and after 38 hours of travel, we got straight to work at the first of 8 churches. The team spoke to the congregation and held a baptism. They had dammed up a small creek to create deep enough water and afterward, they allowed the waters to flow free again and as the water flowed, I pictured the sins of the people being washed away forever. Once the service was over, we were blessed to purchase many supplies and candy for the children and return to pass out the items. On Sunday, we completed a church tour which consisted of rising early and driving to 4 separate churches to greet them and pray over their congregations. The day ended with attending the main church for worship, preaching, and another baptism opportunity. That day 45 people were baptized, with a total of 76 for our time there. After crunching the numbers, I realized that for 76 hours of travel, we baptized one person per hour which made it all worth it. My most memorable moment was having the honor of baptizing an elderly man whose congregation had never had a baptism service before. He had accepted Christ and had been counselled on the act of baptism but was just waiting for someone to come. We held two days of a leadership conference/revival service. Many leaders came forward for anointing in their ministries. Men, women, and children of all ages came forward for prayer with a variety of needs but not so different than our own.
One of the biggest blessings from this trip was the unity within our team. In preparing for the trip, we each sensed that we would meet with spiritual warfare and even personal safety concerns. The spiritual warfare and personal safety concerns did become a reality, but God was faithful to protect us and guide us as we served. God specifically used Psalm 91 to comfort us. I truly believe that the members of this team were hand-picked by a loving Father. I experienced the living out of 1 Corinthians 12:20, "As it is, there are many parts, but one body.". I believe that as a team, we moved and breathed as one. If God revealed something to one of us, He always confirmed it with a second team member. One thing I learned during this trip is how important it is to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as He guides. His leading and guiding was most crucial on the success of this mission. I believe the challenge that God left me with after this trip is to continue to press into Him and cast off the desires and longings of the flesh and focus completely on Him.
I have been home now for a few days and although I appreciate the comforts and familiarity of home, there are things I will miss from Kenya. I still crave the fresh truly organic foods that we enjoyed every day. I miss the companions that the Lord provided for us as we travelled. I don't miss the 5am daily call to prayer from the mosque down the street. What I will miss most of all was the ability to be completely focused on the Kingdom work and where the Spirit of the Lord would lead us daily. We often get caught up in the daily sameness that can distract us from our true calling. I purpose to stay focused, putting His work first and all other things second. Our purpose is to do Kingdom work whether at home or across the globe in Africa.
Jake Mudger Testimony
I'd like to start with a thank you for the tremendous efforts that many people, churches, and communities have worked together to do God's mission work in Kenya. While there were four people that went on this trip, there were easily over 400 people (probably closer to 1000) that worked on-mission to make this trip happen. I'm thankful and humbled for the prayers and provisions provided by so many.
For me, the biggest sacrifice is time away from my three children. While they are my number one priority after my personal relationship with God, it's a hard decision to put mission work above time with them. With any sacrifice we make, we need to seek God's will. I felt God's will was to go on this trip and I was very blessed because of it.
I want to share just a few of the many ways that I saw God working on this trip. I'm grateful I made the sacrifice of time, and I'm thankful that others made the sacrifice of prayer and provisions to make this happen. Thank you.
We had a 3.5-hour drive to the Mara Conservancy, which is the north tip of the Serengeti National Park. From the entrance of the park, we saw wild monkeys, elephants, giraffes, and zebras in the distance. We also saw umbrella trees and many different types of vegetation.
I'm truly amazed at the imagination of God, the beauty, and the balance of his masterpiece creation. I was humbled to think that God loves his creation, but he loves us even more than the animals.
Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven. — Matthew 10:31-33
The symbol of dying to self and raising up in a new life to accept the salvation that our Lord and Savior Jesus offers us for free is a wonderful experience to witness. It is a miracle every time someone is forgiven of sin and receives God's Holy Spirit. There's a story behind each person, and for that person, it's the greatest day of their life.
I was blessed to witness and serve so many people that made that decision on this trip. It's a great pulse of God's church growing and moving forward.
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. And corresponding to that, baptism now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him. — 1 Peter 3:18-22
A cool God moment was that we were able to bless each church with some funds. At one church, Coria felt that the church was to receive 20,000 shillings (about $150), but she didn't know what it was to be used for. While we were at the church, I didn't see any members with a Bible, so I brought it up to the team.
We spoke with Pastor Thomas and asked how many Bibles the church would need. He answered, "20." We then asked how much a Bible costs. He answered, "About 1,000 shillings." When we did the math, they would need 20,000 shillings for each member to have a Bible! Thank you, God, for the confirmation!
It became apparent that there were some schemes to extort money from our team by some people outside of the ministry. Once we were made aware of this, I felt vulnerable and my sense of security was gone. We took necessary precautions, such as not leaving our hotel compound except to visit churches. This meant no shopping (sadly the day before we just found a great grocery store with doughnuts) and no more dining away from our hotel.
We asked for prayer, and the prayers were certainly answered. We were well protected physically. The reality is that we need spiritual protection every day, every hour, every minute. It doesn't matter if you are in Kenya, the United States, or the North Pole; we have to be seeking God's divine protection. Jesus taught us to pray for God to deliver us from evil.
My biggest takeaway and my post-trip action item is to seek God's spiritual protection for me and my family the same way I wanted physical protection on the trip.
In closing, thank you for the prayers, provisions, and Love. I think the best way to pray for God's church in Kenya is for them to have a hunger for God's word, to be transformed by God's truth, and to trust in God’s provision.
Past Mission Trips
Beginning in 2017 we have been going on mission trips wherever we feel the Lord leading us to go. Below is a list of the places that the Lord has sent us. We are excited to continue to see when and where the Lord will lead us!
We have led outreach efforts in the local areas and churches and we have conducted service to our local elderly population, to women, to believers in Christ, and to underprivileged individuals and families. On these trips we were able to teach in multiple churches and events, lead gospel crusades into the local villages and communities including children and single parents, and also baptize new believers.
