Genesis 50:20, Berean Standard Bible
“As for you, what you intended against me for evil, God intended for good, in order to accomplish a day like this—to preserve the lives of many people.”
2016
January: I lost my father.
January: I went to jail for domestic violence.
February: My favorite cousin was released from prison.
March: I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.
April-May: I faced the realization I’d never see my cousin free again, but a fire lit inside me.
June: Grief.
July: I conceived a baby—but was told if I chose to keep the child, the father would leave. I chose life.
September: I found out there were two babies!

Look what the Lord has done!
Overall:
He birthed a supernatural ability to love.
My twins have a dad who chose them. Who God chose for them. And although they don’t see their biological father, we all speak of him in love. Bitterness will not be my kids' portion.
Borderline personality disorder wasn’t an illness, it was an empty void that is now filled—not by medication, but by His Spirit.
My cousin is still on death row and God’s not done with him yet. He’s still one of my all-time favorite people. His life lit a fire in me for broken and lost kids and young adults–a fire in me for those who experienced trauma. I love the wild ones!
Reflection is good.
2026 Miranda wouldn’t be doing what she is doing without 2016 Miranda. Every story, every ounce of pain was not wasted, but for a greater purpose than myself!
