Psalm 91:5-6, New International Version
“You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.”
After seven years, God once again called us back to Kenya for another short mission trip. This time we stayed in one location instead of going to two places hosted by two pastors. However, we still visited multiple churches that were all planting by our host pastor.
During the past seven years, the seed that was sowed has grown and we are grateful to be a part of it. Whether the first time or this time the Lord called us through visions and dreams. God revealed that it was His will for us to go back to Kenya right after we came back from the Philippines mission trip in the summer of 2024. Near the end of 2024, Bishop Thomas, who is our host pastor in Kenya, messaged us about a dream that he had. In the dream, he was hosting a leadership and revival conference and my husband and I were standing there with him. And there were two other people with us as well. Just like the dream he had, which is no doubt that it is from the Lord, a team of four formed! (How did the two others feel led to go with us? Read their testimony and I am sure you may find out.)
I never thought I would be called back to Kenya as I experienced strong spiritual warfare the first time we were there, and I did not desire for that kind of combat again. However, the Lord is not like man. It was time for us to once again engage and to mature and to be refined to another level. There were literally times when we faced physical danger, also times when we were in direct spiritual battles. (I believe others team member mentioned this part in their testimonies) But God, Jesus, already knew! He gave visions, thoughts, a sense of peace and courage, and a book to remind us of His protection. The enemy waged a battle, but God prepared us for His victory.
I am so grateful that a vision I had of my hands being bound, and a thought and warning of being captive, did not stop us from going. During the flight there, I watched a movie with a line which said, “Some people will back down and be stopped when fear come, some will become stronger.” Thank you, Jesus, who gave us a sense of what may happen, yet He also reminded us that He will be there to protect us. Psalm 91:5-6 (NIV), “You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.”
What an awesome God we serve!
