Romans 8:28, New International Version

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

God Was Directing My Path (Part Two)

On December 23, 2024, my boyfriend was arrested again. This time, I saw it as my chance to escape the hell I was living in. I stayed one night at my parents’ house and reached out for help. I found a treatment center in Niles, Ohio, and they came to get me the very next day.

Looking back, I can see that God was directing my steps all along. While in treatment – three hours from home – I learned about Hannah’s House. I decided to take a leap of faith and walked through those doors on January 29, 2025.

During my time at Hannah’s House, God transformed my life. I learned how to change my thinking, built a true relationship with him, and began reading the Bible daily. I started therapy, and God placed me with a Christian therapist – further proof that He knew exactly what He was doing.

Over the past years, I have grown in my understanding of my mental health, worked on myself, and built a sisterhood with the women at Hannah’s House and a family within the church. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for how God intervened and rescued me from the pit of addiction.

God has shown me that I am worth more than I ever believed. I am deeply thankful for every person who has poured love, encouragement, and positivity into my life and supported my walk with Him.

I once read a quote that says, “I may not be able to change my past, but I can surely choose my destiny.” Through my time at Hannah’s House, therapy, and the healthy relationships God has placed in my life, I believe I am doing exactly that. I will continue walking forward on the path of blessings the Lord has prepared for me.
