Romans 6:4, New International Version

“We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

As we move beyond Resurrection Sunday, it’s important to remember that the resurrection of Jesus is not just something we celebrate—it’s something we are called to live in. The empty tomb was not meant to be the end of a moment, but the beginning of a new life. The same power that raised Christ from the dead was not only displayed in history—it is made available to every believer today.

Too often, it’s easy to celebrate the resurrection and then return to the same patterns, the same struggles, and the same mindset. But Scripture calls us to something greater. The resurrection is not just about Jesus coming out of the grave—it’s about us walking in newness of life. What was once dead in us has been made alive through Him. Old ways are meant to be left behind, and new life is meant to take their place.

This new life is not something we create through effort—it flows from our connection to Christ. When we place our faith in Him, we are not simply forgiven; we are transformed. The resurrection power of Jesus works within us, shaping our desires, renewing our minds, and strengthening us to live in obedience. The Christian life is not about striving harder—it’s about living surrendered to the One who has already won the victory.

Living in the power of the resurrection also changes how we face challenges. Trials still come. Difficulties still arise. But they no longer define us. The same power that overcame death reminds us that nothing we face is beyond God’s ability to work through. Where there once was fear, there can now be confidence. Where there once was defeat, there can now be hope.

This kind of life requires daily surrender. It means choosing to walk with Christ, to trust His leading, and to rely on His strength rather than our own. The resurrection is not just a one-time event to remember—it is a daily reality to embrace. Each day becomes an opportunity to live differently, to love more deeply, and to reflect the life of Christ in everything we do.

As we reflect on the full journey—from the cross to the empty tomb and now into everyday life—we are reminded that the story continues through us. Jesus is alive, and His life is at work in His people. The question is no longer just, “Do we believe in the resurrection?” but “Are we living in its power?” Because when we do, our lives become a testimony of the hope, freedom, and transformation found in Christ.
