Children - A Clay In Your Hands

Your children are soft, pliable clay in your hands, are you deliberate in shaping them into a vessel of honor? Join me today as we discuss ways, we can be intentional about shaping the hearts and minds of our children.
It is true that our children are a blank canvas when they are born. Waiting for us to paint a masterpiece onto their souls. God has given us clear direction for this in His word on the things that please Him and the things that do not. It is our responsibility to take the time to mold and shape our children and not leave it up to Sunday school teachers or public schools to do the work for us. Surely the old adage, “If you want something done right you must do it yourself” applies well here.
Consider this scripture that boils down the core of our Christian morals—
“These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” (Proverbs 6:16-19, KJV)
Are we teaching and living humble lives? Do we do the work of uprooting every lie and holding our children (and ourselves) accountable to deceptive speech? Surely, we discourage all manners of harming innocent lives, wicked thoughts, mischievous actions, and lying about what we have seen. Dear parents, I promise you, with just the slightest direction and instruction our children can learn to love the light and all that is good. Wickedness becomes foreign to them, and then it is our job to encourage them to have both pity and boldness towards those who do contrary to what they have been shown.
Several times a day there are stories and circumstances you can use to teach the principles of God. If only we would put down our phones, shut off the TV and engage the children God has so graciously put into our care. Time will pass, and very quickly, I am sure. How are you making the most out of every opportunity you have been given with your children?
The Lords blessing on you always, and I pray His Holy Spirit guides you in all things in the name of Jesus.
