Does God Really Mean That The Husband is The Head of The Wife?

Let us begin this article with a question, "Does God really mean the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church?" If your answer is the same as mine, which is yes, then I would like to invite you to dig deeper with me and seek to understand what it means when it says that Christ is the head of the church.
The Head…. what does be the head symbolize? My understanding is that He is the leader and as such, His thoughts, His words, and His will should be our guiding principles and priorities. He should be regarded as having higher wisdom and authority, as well as greater responsibility and accountability for the lives of those who belong to Him. And if this is all correct, then it also means that as the Head, there is more required of Him than there is of the church.
Basically, we can say it like this, "The church is the follower of Christ. We follow His principles through our words and actions in our daily lives."
We know that we have assurance that Christ will never fail us, and we also know that the Bible tells us that all man is sinful. So, does this mean that if we follow our husband, who a man, we are taking a risk and could be on a path to failure? Afterall, if the head of a body fails, the body itself will follow as well. If this is the true, then why would God instruct us to submit to failure? Does God make mistakes? No way! He is all knowing and full of all wisdom! So, what then is His plan for us in this?
Let's begin with the story of Adam and Eve and remember the role which God assigned to Adam, as well as look at what God created Eve for – to be his good helper. What mistake led them into the path of sin? It was when Adam chose not to keep the word of God and allowed other voices to tell him what to do - the voice of the snake and of Eve, rather than heeding the instructions of God. As we try to understand how the instruction to "manage the garden" turned into Adam and Eve being "cast out from the garden", we will find that the fundamental reason is that Adam ignored the word of God. Through this we will see that if a man desires to be the head, then he needs the word, Jesus. That is why Paul wrote to Timothy and emphasized "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7, NKJB)
This statement "for husband is the head of the wife" is an instruction which should be obeyed by a husband who is following Jesus. This is also true for women as well when it says that "wives submit to your husband". If a woman is seeking to follow Christ, then they will also be following these instructions. It is at this point we should also realize how serious it is when the word of God teaches us that we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. How could anyone who walks in the ways of the world and denies Jesus (the word) have the power to love and have a sound mind?
How then do I know if the one who I may get married to is equally yoked? My friends, know the Word yourself. I do not mean academically, like how you read and know history or a biography. I mean to have an intimate and living relationship with Jesus, who is the Word. When the Word is in you, His Spirit is in you, and you will experience the power of His power of love, and He will give you a sound mind. He will never deny Himself or deny His Word so whoever make decision and acts in ways which are against His word do not belong to Him and He is not in them.
Husbands and wives, if you are in a difficult position and think that the word of God cannot be applied in your situations, then maybe it is a good time to go deeper into the word of God. Maybe it is time to get on your knees and being to see things from a new perspective through the lens of God and His Word.
