Isaiah 26:3-4, New International Version
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”
We all go through seasons in our lives. Sometimes we can glide right through them without any hiccups. Other times there may be some challenges along the way. Things may arise and we aren’t quite sure how to navigate through them. This is where trust comes into play. We won’t always know the details, but we can trust the One who knows every detail.
Isaiah 26:3-4 (NIV) says, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”
There are times when we can get sidetracked in our thinking. We need to remain attentive and alert. We need to recognize what is almost right and what is right. We need to be able to identify where things are coming from and how true they really are. We have an enemy that will do anything to sidetrack our thoughts to make us feel shame, condemnation, or like we don’t fit in or belong, or that we will never be good enough. As the scripture above tells us, our minds must be steadfast on Him, and what He says is truth!
The Bible tells us in Romans 8:28 (NIV): “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."
When these thoughts come, ask yourself “Does this line up with the word of God? Is this God working things together for my good?” If it has a negative connotation, more than likely it is the enemy coming to steal, kill, and destroy.
Thoughts are powerful. They can impact our emotions, which in turn affects our emotional wellbeing and even our physical wellbeing. It is so important for us to know the Word and to be rooted in the Word! The outcome of our situations changes drastically when our minds are steadfast on Him because we trust Him! It may not be a season that always makes sense, maybe sometimes it looks a little scary, but we aren’t promised an easy life. We are promised that Jesus will be with us always, even until the end of the age. The challenges we go through today help us to be stronger, wiser, and more mature in the Lord if we are steadfast on Him! God is the God Almighty! He is powerful! He is Holy and righteous! Even a sparrow will not fall without Him knowing it. If He sees that sparrow falling, He sees you, He sees me. Don’t get discouraged! Keep holding onto Him! Isaiah 7:9 (NIV) says, “…If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.” We must stand firm in our faith! As Paul instructs us in Hebrews 10:23 (NIV), “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” Do you believe that He is faithful? Let’s stand firm together!
