Lamentations 3:19-24, New International Version
“I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.’”
God’s mercy is new every morning…Have we ever really taken that into deep consideration? His mercy every morning—is new—We have another morning to turn to Him. We have another morning to repent of our sins. We have another morning to allow God to do a healing work in us. We have another morning to pray and talk to Him. We have another morning to read in His word. We have another morning to love the people well that God has placed in our lives. We have another morning to make right what we perhaps didn’t know how to make right the day before. We have another morning…because His mercies are new every morning.

I have gone through things in my life where the struggle was real—there was a war between flesh and spirit. But, by the grace of God, He showed up in my life. As the scripture says, great is Your faithfulness. I thank God for His mercy that is new every morning and gave me the opportunities I needed to make myself right with Him, to do a work in my own heart so that I am better able to love my neighbor as myself. I know, trust, and believe that if He can do these things in my life, He can do them in yours! I am nobody special…just a human being in need of a Savior, just like everyone else. Be encouraged and put your trust in God!
Maybe you are going through something right now and you are not sure how to process what is happening in your life—don’t stop seeking God. Don’t stop calling out to Him! Because of His great love, you are not consumed! It may seem like it with what you see with your naked eye, but there are things happening in the heavenlies that we cannot see. Your breakthrough is coming! We have an enemy that wants to kill, steal, and destroy—to keep you from your breakthrough—but don’t give in!
“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.” (Lamentations 3:25, NIV)
Waiting in the quiet for the salvation of the Lord can be hard. It is something you may want “right now.” But while you wait in the quiet, think about this: What is God wanting me to learn from this? Is there something in me that needs to change? How is God working this out for my good? God does not waste anything but reveals His nature through everything. He is a redemptive God…He will redeem you and has redeemed you!
It is not always pleasant to go through the difficult things in life, but when you make it to the other side and look back, you can see how God moved so beautifully in your life, and all you can do is be in awe of Him and thank Him for what He has done. I pray that God will give you the grace and strength for each morning, continued mercy each morning, to get you to where you are going and to see the glory of God revealed in and through your life. I pray that you would be raised above the discouragement and find joy in the waiting, in the changing, in the transformation. May God bless you and keep you and cause His face to shine upon you as He is transforming you from glory to glory. In Jesus name. Amen.
