“He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”

“How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.” (Psalms 36:7, NLT)

We have all used umbrellas, whether to keep us dry from rain or to keep us cool in the shade it offers. Either way, it protects us. How much more does the Lord's umbrella protect us!

God's umbrella symbolizes divine protection, His covering, and the shelter of His grace during life's storms. 

Just as a physical umbrella blocks rain or harsh weather, God's spiritual "umbrella" shields you and I from the trials and hardships of the world.

Trials still happen. Just as an umbrella cannot turn off the clouds or stop the rain from falling, having faith in the Lord's umbrella does not mean your life will be free of pain, loss, or hard times. The Lord's umbrella is protection from the elements life throws at us.

We need faith in the Lord's protection to receive His umbrella. Like I said, faith is like an umbrella because it does not stop life's storms, but it gives you shelter and strength. When we use an umbrella in the rain, it doesn't necessarily stop the rain but protects us and keeps us dry. Faith shields your heart and mind, giving you peace and courage while you walk through difficult moments.

What does the Lord's umbrella teach us? It teaches us that it protects, but doesn't necessarily change the weather or trials we are in. Hard times, sadness, and trials still happen in life. The Lord's umbrella does not stop the rain from falling. It shields our heart. Just like a canopy blocks the water from soaking you, faith protects your mind and spirit from being completely overwhelmed. It gives you courage. Instead of hiding or running away, you get the peace to keep moving forward one step at a time. 

How do we make use of His umbrella? We need faith. Faith is action. True faith is showing up with your umbrella ready before the sky turns dark, knowing the Lord will protect you.

We have to choose to stay protected in the Lord's umbrella. Choosing to stay covered is knowing trials still happen, but we can find peace and safety by choosing to stay under God's care and guidance. 

Remember, faith is like an umbrella because it does not stop the rain or change the weather, but it gives you the protection and strength to stand through the storm! Let me encourage you to grab your spiritual umbrella every day before you start your day!
