Proverbs 3:5-6, New King James Version

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; [6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths."

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33, NKJV)

To be "tuned in to Jesus" means aligning our heart, mind, and life with His teachings and will, which can be done through things like prayer and meditation, studying His Word, and seeking a relationship with Him by focusing on His presence with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Tuning into God requires discipline and perseverance and can lead to personal transformation and a life that reflects God's intended purpose. What are some areas we need to be disciplined in?

Prayer and Meditation: Engage in prayer, listening for God's voice and responding to His will. Actively study the Bible to both understand what Jesus taught, and discern the Holy Spirit's voice.

Practice quiet alone time with God to quiet the mind and create space for God to speak and to disconnect from constant distractions.

Being in-tune with God means living a life aligned with God's will. This is characterized by attentive listening, spiritual practices like prayer and scripture, a surrender to God's guidance, and unwavering faith. This results in peace, discernment, and the ability to navigate the challenges of life with confidence, allowing God to work through you.

So, what are some characteristics of being in- tune with God?

Listening to His voice. Being constantly aware of God's "gentle whispers," and still small voice.

This can be by making a statement first thing in the morning that your intentions are to follow the Lord God Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; Jesus Christ with one hundred percent of your actions being with God in that order.

Faith and Trust: Having a deep, confidence in God's plan and presence, even in difficult circumstances.

Spiritual Growth: Viewing challenges as opportunities to grow spiritually and conquer life's obstacles with the help of the Holy Spirit. This can be a hard one, because when we are in the middle of a challenge, we tend to focus on feelings instead of what God is doing in the challenges.

You may ask, "How do I be more in-tune with God?"

The first thing we can do is pray always. This maintains a constant state of communication with God.

We can set our mind above– not earthly. Focus your thoughts on spiritual things, rather than worldly distractions.

Align everything you do with God: Try to view your tasks as something you and God are doing together.

What does a life tuned into God look like? You will have peace and confidence. You can have a sense of peace and a belief that all things are possible, even when facing major problems. You will be aware that you have divine guidance. You recognize and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You will have joy in God. When you find your greatest joy and pleasure in God, this is a sign of alignment with Him. You will see obstacles differently. You will see challenges and "giants" as opportunities, rather than insurmountable problems.

To tune into God requires discipline and self-determination. It is very easy to just let go and allow the mind to just wander and indulge for fun. Relaxing, daydreaming allows us to rest which is a good thing, but it is important that we commit to keeping our minds on God whenever we are alert in our daily living.

By staying tuned and aligned to God, you will be attentive to what God is doing and telling you to do.

A mind that is tuned to God is able to perceive what God says when they pray and goes on to obey God.

The busyness of life, the demands, the chaos, the struggles, the temptations, disasters, hardships, comforts and just any possible thing that one can face in life can take our attention off God. But remember to tune right back in when you realize that you have tuned out. Tune back into God because God is our Hope and the faithful one. God is always speaking to teach, help and lead us onto the path of righteousness but we miss out when we tune out.

Stay tuned in to God and hear all that He wants to speak to you!
