Galatians 5:16, New King James Version

"I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh."

Activating the Holy Spirit involves inviting His presence through faith, repentance, and intentional daily surrender, acknowledging He already dwells within us.

To experience His power, consistently ask for filling, read and study Scripture, worship, and obey His guidance. This creates a living, daily partnership.

So, what are the key ways to activate the Holy Spirit:

Ask in Faith: Simply ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit; Jesus promises this gift to those who ask. The Word says that those who ask, receive, and those who knock, the door will be opened. As for His power, believing you will receive it by faith.

Daily Surrender and Repentance: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas needing change and surrender your life completely, clearing out old habits to make room for Him. Lay down worldly desires and habits.

Constant Recognition (Awareness): Acknowledge the Holy Spirit's presence throughout the day by saying "Thank you, Holy Spirit" or by praying in the moment.

Next is, daily prayer and Word Study: Spend time in Scripture to understand His guidance and maintain a consistent prayer life, even when life is busy.

Worship: Worshiping God opens your heart to the presence of the Holy Spirit

If you are a believer in Christ, the Bible is very clear that the Holy Spirit already dwells in you (Romans 8:9). He seeks to guide you and nudge you in obedience to God. The Holy Spirit’s influence is like your conscience, on steroids. We connect to the Holy Spirit’s power by tuning in to what He’s doing in our lives. Paul says, for instance, “...those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.” (Romans 8:5, BSB). So, we maintain an awareness of the things that matter to God. And as we sense the Holy Spirit leading us, we follow. That’s why Paul talks about being “led by the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:18).

Practice awareness by thanking the Spirit in your daily actions, acknowledging He is your guide and helper.

Believing that the Spirit already lives in you is the first step toward releasing His power.

Are you connected to the power of the Holy Spirit? Add Him to your prayer list – you need more of Him than anything else! Tune in to what He’s doing in your life and cooperate with His leading, because when you are under His influence, there are no regrets, only strength to live the life God calls us to.
