Psalms 139:14, New King James Version
"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well."
I am sure we have all seen Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. He was teased and shunned for his difference: his red shining nose. He wasn't allowed to play in any reindeer games, and he wasn't allowed to train to be one of Santa's reindeer. But, we know that his very "flaw" is what saved Christmas, according to how the story goes.
Â
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is just a story, but God really can use our flaws, differences and brokenness for His good and glory.
Â
God made us unique. He made us uniquely. There is no other one of you or me. I think it’s important to embrace your uniqueness, because God will use it in extraordinary ways. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. God didn’t create you to be like anyone else. He created you to be you.Â
Â
Let's look at some Biblical examples of people the Lord used in major ways:
Â
Moses:Â Had a speech impediment but used it to lead Israelites.
Paul (Saul): A persecutor transformed into a mighty apostle.
Rahab: An innkeeper used to save God's people.
King David: The youngest, overlooked son became Israel's greatest king.Â
Â
Ultimately, surrendering your brokenness or handicaps to God allows Him to work through your flaws and unique design, making you a powerful vessel for His purposes.Â
Â
God can redeem flaws, pain, and differences, transforming them into strengths, purpose, and beauty, much like the Japanese art of kintsugi where broken pottery is mended with gold, making it more beautiful for having been broken, or how the Bible promises beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3) and uses our unique makeup (personality, experiences, gifts) for His glory.
Â
We have to surrender our "messes" and imperfections to Him so He can reshape them into something uniquely valuable, demonstrating His grace and power.Â
Â
God takes past mistakes, scars, and brokenness and uses them for good, making you and IÂ an example of His transformative power.
Â
Your specific spiritual gifts, personality, and experiences, even challenges, are intentionally designed by God for His purposes, making you unique and needed. Biblical promises, like in Isaiah 61:3, speak of God giving a crown of beauty instead of ashes, and oil of joy for mourning, signifying profound healing and restoration.
Â
God, the divine potter, reshapes us, using the very cracks and imperfections to create something whole and beautiful,Â
Â
We have to allow God to work in our "messy" life, rather than hiding it, and allow Him to create something glorious from it.
Â
How can we do this? Through prayer and surrender: giving your struggles and flaws to God in prayer. Also, we have to trust the process: Believing He's working behind the scenes, even when you feel insignificant.
Â
Being unique is something to be proud of. Why? It's from God. He never ever makes mistakes. This means your uniqueness isn’t a mistake. Own IT! Brag on yourself a little bit. Jesus loves your uniqueness, and imperfections. You are so loved!!
Â
Remember, your unique experiences can become a ministry to help others, so don't be ashamed or embarrassed about who God made you, He chose you for His divine plan!
