Psalms 100:4 New King James Version
"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name."
A passport is a travel document issued that proves a person's identity and citizenship, enabling international travel. It allows a person to enter and temporarily reside in foreign countries. How is our praise and thanksgiving a type of passport to the Lord's presence? Praise is like a passport that allows believers to "travel" into God's presence, experience His power, and receive His blessings. The idea is that through praise and worship, individuals can connect with God on a deeper level, experiencing His love, grace, and power in a tangible way. Are you aware that when you praise Jesus, that’s when God shows up? The Bible tells us that the Lord inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3) To inhabit means to “dwell within”. In other words, when we begin to praise the Lord and to lift the Name of Jesus, that’s when God sits down in our midst and dwells with us. He is in our presence, and we are in His.
The phrase "praise is a passport" suggests that praise and worship can be a means of entering into a deeper relationship with God or accessing His presence. It implies that sincere praise acts as a key to unlock spiritual blessings and experiences.
I said that a passport can prove someone's identity and citizenship in a certain country. The idea of "praise as a passport" can also be linked to the concept of believers being citizens of heaven, with praise being a way to express their allegiance and longing for their true home.
Pouring out your gratitude in an empty season can actually open the door to heaven in a way that can reform your life forever. We are told to give thanks in all circumstances because gratitude is the passport to His presence. Thanks, invites God into the room.
As you lift up to God your praise and worship, that is when God will reside, inhabit, and move in. And you will be in His presence forever!
Praise opens the gates of Heaven and the doors of blessings. Praise gets rid of worry and dilutes concern and fear. Praise is one of the languages of faith. Praise capitalizes on who truly matters. It focuses on the Lord! Praise is the answer. Praise is always the solution. Praise brings us so much closer to God. Praise is key! Praise is the passport.
