Revelation 21:4, English Standard Version

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

A question I raised to my husband over the past couple of weeks went like this: “Why does everywhere have road construction no matter if it is a little town or a big city?” So as usual, at that moment, I began to wonder if God was speaking to me and if there was something He wanted me to pay attention to or something He wanted me to learn. Rather than trying to use my little mind to figure out the answer, I went ahead and asked the Lord. The answer came to my mind, “The world is in need of reconstruction, and the thousand-year reign will come.”

Wow! I did not expect that the answer would point to His great picture from the book of Revelation! I shared what I received with my husband, and I pondered this answer within my heart.

A day later, while I was thinking about it again, God gave another thought to me – it’s time for the reconstruction work to begin. From one individual, to many, and to all. From one person, in each heart, through each life, God begins His reconstruction work. A crack, a hole, a broken path, a rough and rocky road… God aims to reform and send His crews to work.

First, He sent men according to the request of man. He sent kings, judges, and prophets through the law. Just as He knows, man can do nothing apart from God. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit: apart from me you can do nothing.(John 15:5, NIV)

For this very reason, God sent His Son, Jesus, to dwell among His people. He came not to judge or condemn their wrongdoings but to save and give life. (John 3:16-17) However, once again they don’t see it, and they reject and deny the truth. (John 1:11, John 3:19-21, Titus 1:16) Even worse, they treated the Son of God in the evilest way. (Matthew 21:33-46, Luke 20:9-19, and Mark 12:1-12)

Thanks be to God that He does not repay evil for evil. He repays with His goodness! The sacrificial act of Jesus enabled His redeeming, restoring, renewing work on mankind (the world)! A great blessing of reconciliation between God and man! Now, through the Holy Spirit, those who believe and receive are being transformed to know the hope that God has given. The crew of Christ has been sent and are still being sent, from where we are, to the near and to the far, until the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

My dear friends, I hope you do know this hope that is found in Christ! Our life may have paths that are broken, our heart may be cracked, and there may be areas that have been ripped apart… but God is aiming to mend it! Are you willing to endure a moment of inconvenience and discomfort so God can rebuild the old to become new? The old way cannot take you to the right destination. There is only the Way for you to walk through the valley of the shadow of death. (Psalm 23) Don’t go along with the fallen. The last part of the reconstruction is coming; He is on the way! So get ready to be made new!
