Psalm 147:3, New International Version
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Recently I was watching a detective TV show and during one of the episodes one of the characters said something like this: “Relationships like the skin we all have, years bring wrinkles.” Sometimes the years can bring bruises or scratches, which need to be cared for.
How true this is when we apply it to the relationships between people. Whether we are talking about parents and children, husband and wife, friendships, co-workers… simply because of the nature of man and the weakness that we all carry. This is not something we can avoid as long as we are living in this imperfect but fallen world. Some may say, “Well, I know that, and this is the reason I do not build relationships with anyone. No expectation, no disappointment.” However, that would be like saying: I am going to avoid sleeping because I have had some bad dreams. That is not realistic!
Through the knowledge and abilities of man we can produce different kinds of skin care products which soften wrinkles and restore bruises and scratches. Do you believe that God can do even more and better, offering us the most amazing cream we can use to smooth and restore broken relationships?
I have experienced and applied on my wounded skin (relationships) the brand name “Jesus’ touch”, and I apply it through living with His word daily. The truth could never become a lie or be changed or erased. It is one hundred percent secure and trustworthy. It doesn’t matter what kind of skin type (relationship), or scar (wound) you may have. The promise is, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3, NIV)
He, Jesus, “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24, ESV) No matter if it is a physical, emotional and spiritual affliction, God heals!
Do you apply His word in your life day and night, just as if you would use skincare? Do you know His word is active and alive in all kinds of need and is better than any treatment that you can use?
Listen: This is what the Lord has said, “For I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26, NIV)
Call on Him, "Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.” (Jeremiah 17:14, NIV)
