Ephesians 3:18, Expanded bible

“And I pray that you and all God’s holy people (the saints) will have the power to understand [comprehend; grasp] the greatness of Christ’s love—how wide and how long and how high and how deep that love is.”

Another inspiration I received from watching a fictional crime drama - the greatness of Christ’s love! It is beyond any of mankind’s understanding. How could God love sinners? While watching the acts of an evil person with a twisted mind, seeing them take pleasure in hurting someone, a question began to burn in my heart: How could anyone forgive and forget the horror that exists in this world? I have no doubt that the only answer is this: God does, He loves them. At the same time, God also loves those who have been hurt. How deep is His love and how is His love above our understanding?

“I pray that Christ will live [make his home] in your hearts by faith and that your life will be strong in love and be built on love [rooted and grounded in love]. And I pray that you and all God’s holy people [the saints] will have the power to understand [comprehend; grasp] the greatness of Christ’s love—how wide and how long and how high and how deep that love is. Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know [beyond comprehension/knowledge], but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then […so that] you can be filled with the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:17-19, EB)

Thanks be to our God, who gives us His Spirit with power, love, and a sound mind – the mind of Christ. Without knowing Christ and the help of the Holy Spirit, no one could ever comprehend the Love – God Himself. His character and His beatitudes.

Recently I also read a book called “Imaging Heaven” that was written by John Burke. The author interviewed and journaled many who experienced near-death situations. They described going through the light and visiting heaven, while others recall passing through hell. Whether it is heaven or hell, there is only one reason God chose to reveal it to them, it was the love that He has for them. There is only one Way to walk towards the everlasting life and avoid everlasting torment: Accept Jesus and His love through the Salvation He demonstrated on the cross. His sacrificial love for every sinner once and for all!

Are you able to grasp the knowledge of the greatness of the love of Christ? Are you rooted and grounded in His incomprehensibly wide, long, high, and deep love? Do you open your heart for Christ to make His home and live in? Are you filled with the fullness of God so that you are living to love others just as He does for you?

My dear friends, if you have ever met Jesus, you should know exactly what I mean. In His presence we find His undeniable love. Even though He has full knowledge of our sins, His rich love covers them, and He forgives and forgets. Therefore, Love, as He has loved you!

For those who could not believe what I have shared with you here, I pray that Jesus will meet you where you are, and your heart will be ready to receive.
