Romans 5:20, New Living Translation

“God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.”

Are you still living in shame and wandering on the edge of the path of Salvation and haven’t put your feet in it? Are you still convinced you are not worthy of Jesus? Do you instead agree with the accusing words of the enemy that you do not deserve to receive His gift of Salvation? Are you holding on to guilt even though you have heard that Jesus said, “If the Son (I AM) sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36, NIV)

No matter what your reason is, I need you to be assured that:

It’s not about how huge the sin that we committed is, but how great the work that Jesus did for the redemption of our sin is!

Read that one more time and listen carefully:

It’s never about how huge the sin that we committed is, but how great the work that Jesus did for the redemption of our sin!

I am talking not to those who claim they have no sin or those who learned the truth (1 John 1:8, Romans 6:1-2, Hebrews 10:26), but to those who are struggling to accept the love of Jesus and those who are miscalculating the depth of the love of the Savior. You may have heard someone (including yourself) say you are so far gone, you are an outcast, you are a disgrace to the name of Jesus, you are not qualified and do not deserve to serve in His Kingdom. Maybe even worse, you have experienced the rejection of those who attend church. You have felt the unwelcoming atmosphere around you. Maybe you heard their opinions about you– because of what you did or what you may still be battling in your sin nature.

This is what the Apostle Paul, who was Spirit-filled, shared with the believers, “…The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin. I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.  But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord…” (Romans 7:14-25, NLT)

The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord! Let Him help you overcome your weakness, transform your nature through the Spirit of God, and lead you to the path of Salvation.
