John 17:14-15, English Standard Version
“I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.”
My fellow brothers and sisters, do you fully know that our Lord Jesus is interceding for you before the Father daily? Have you read and know about Abraham standing in the gap for his nephew Lot, or how Moses took a stand for the Israelites? Now, Jesus is standing for us between the life and death and rescuing us away from darkness to light. If this is too amazing for you to believe, let us hear what the word of God says about this:
“No one abuses his own body, does he? No, he feeds and pampers it. That is how Christ treats us, the church, since we are part of his body.” (Ephesians 5:29-30, MSG)
We are a part of Jesus’ body. And no matter which part you are, whether a tiny finger or a piece of bone, He takes good care of it. He does not seek for any part to suffer or be neglected. “If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.” (1 Corinthians 12:26, NLT) A loving God is who Jesus is! So, there is no doubt that He cares, but we must ask ourselves, are we a part of His body?
“From whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” (Ephesians 4:16, ESV)
If we become a part of His body, then we must know that He is our head! (Colossians 1:18) He directs each movement, and He trains each part so that it functions correctly and the whole body can be healthy. He sends His Spirit to lead and to connect each part to work together for good.
Therefore, in Him, there is no brokenness, but we are made whole in Him. Jesus and the Spirit function like the spine, protecting and ensuring that each part in functions and completes their task. He cares about the wholeness of each individual part as well. Not even the smallest fingernail does He fail to care for and look after. That is why the Apostle Paul said, “May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, MSG) One of God’s desires for His body is that “in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.” (Colossians 2:9-10, ESV)
Again, my dear fellow brothers and sisters, please be sure that God cares. Know that (not feel that) Jesus is Who He says He is and will care His body and every part sincerely. If you ever have doubt, now is the time to align with Him.
